Wu Changshuo (吴昌硕) was a prominent Chinese artist, calligrapher, and seal carver of the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China period. Born in 1844 in Anji, Zhejiang province, he is widely recognized for his contributions to traditional Chinese painting, particularly in the “flower-and-bird” genre, as well as his mastery of calligraphy and seal carving.
