You may heard of Taiping but do you know it’s also known as the raintown of Malaysia? This little town has been the backdrop of many local films and produced a number of prestigious filmmakers.
Raintown Film Festival kicked off last year to celebrate these films and the talents. It’s founded by Jacky Yeap, who is also the founder of WuBen Film Magazine. He then gathered people from Taiping and other cities who love films to form a team and started this festival. It gained a lot of attention from the locals during the 3-days festival last year. The event also promote local stories and independent local filmmakers.
With the excitement from last year, they will be holding the second Raintown Film Festival this September!
