I met Loke Soh Kim in 2017 in KongsiKL artspace. Over the years, we had many exchanges while producing events together. Although she is known as a contemporary dance artist and choreographer in the scene, she do not identify herself as that. She think she is merely conveying with her body in a honest way.
She asks, what makes dance? Everyone has their own natural movement, like the banana fritter auntie, char kuey tiaw uncle, although they don't feel they are dancing, but to her it is a kind of movement.
I find this thinking interesting and proposed to make a documentary to explore her question.
