「講座&示範—揭密京劇角色與表演功法」Jingju Role Types and Their Skills & Canons
Before world-renowned GuoGuang Opera Company takes the stage at George Town Festival 2024, the CEO Chang Yu-hua will share the company’s journey of revitalising the age-old artform of jingju, how GuoGuang adheres to traditional conventions whilst staying relevant and fresh in modern times.
The talks will be paired with demonstrations by GuoGuang performers, Wusheng (martial arts male role) Huang Shih-hung will offer a demonstration of kao, a suit of armour worn by warriors. Actors Liu Yu-chih, Ling Chia-lin and Hsieh Kuan-sheng will also demonstrate the essence of Jingju through different roles.
