We started this simply because we are part of this neighborhood. What began as a random street walk slowly became an exhibition. This sharing session intends to reflect on the process behind Street Fragments: Jalan Gurdwara , while opening up a wider conversation on what βcommunity mappingβ means today.
The session will begin with sharing by the project team on their ways of seeing the neighborhood, followed by a roundtable conversation with guest discussants responding from their respective experiences.

His work is shaped by multidisciplinary lens on politics, culture, arts, religion, and Southeast Asian societies. His research interests include participatory democracy, community development, Malaysian cultural politics, the relationship between state bureaucracy & everyday civic life.
Chen Yoke Pin Senior Manager at Arts-ED, a Penang-based non-profit focused on community-based arts and culture education. She designs and facilitates creative learning program that empower youth through cultural engagement. Her practice centers on participatory learning, local heritage, and community contexts, working with educators, community workers, artists, and young people locally and abroad.
